Assessing completeness of a WEB site from quality perspective

    Get PDF
Assessing quality of a web site is most important especially because people world over are dependent on the content hosted on the WEB site for various purposes. May factors are to be considered for assessing the quality. Quality of every factor must be considered individual and also the total quality of the WEB site must be computed. This paper is primarily focused on the factor called “Completeness” which is one of the factors that can be considered for computing the quality of the WEB sites.  There can be much of the disconnected in the content hosted on the web site such as missing href, columns in the tables and forms. The more of the disconnectedness in the content that is hosted on the WEB site, the less the quality, as the information hosted on the WEB site is incomplete and less readabl

Assessing the intelligence of a student through TIC-TAC-TOE game for career guidance

In order to provide Career Guidance by an expert system to a student, apart from his/her academic record, it is necessary to assess various psychological factors of the student like Intelligence, patience and perseverance, Learning ability and Speed of solving problem, etc. The outcome of this research work is an expert system called Tic-Tac-Toe Game Playing Career Guidance System (TTT-GP-CGS) that is useful to assess the psychological factors of the student through Tic-Tac-Toe Game Playing, build the cognitive model of the student and predict the appropriate career(s) for the student. The system plays Tic-Tac-Toe game with the student several times. The average score obtained by the student reflects his/her intelligence. The average time taken by the student for playing the game reflects student's speed of solving problem. The number of attempts the student makes reflects the students patience and perseverance. When the student plays the game with the spaystem every day, if the student's  score increases day by day, it reflects that the student has good learning ability. In this way the system will assess the psychological factors of the student and builds the cognitive model of the student. Internally the system converts the quantitative scores into qualitative scores. The system maintains a table of careers and the expected levels of psychological factors that are required from student's side to carry out the career successfully. The system invokes a matching process  by considering the cognitive model of the student and the table of careers, and predicts the career(s) suitable  to the student

Networking Heterogeneous Microcontroller based Systems through Universal Serial Bus

Networking heterogeneous embedded systems is a challenge. Every distributed embedded systems requires that the network is designed specifically considering the heterogeneity that exits among different Microcontroller based systems that are used in developing a distributed embedded system. Communication architecture, which considers the addressing of the individual systems, arbitration, synchronisation, error detection and control etc., needs to be designed considering a specific application. The issue of configuring the slaves has to be addressed. It is also important that the messages, flow of the messages across the individual ES systems must be designed. Every distributed embedded system is different and needs to be dealt with separately. This paper presents an approach that addresses various issues related to networking distributed embedded systems through use of universal serial bus communication protocol (USB). The approach has been applied to design a distributed embedded that monitors and controls temperatures within a Nuclear reactor system

Building Fault Tollrence within Clouds at Network Level

Cloud computing technologies and infrastructure facilities are coming up in a big way making it cost effective for the users to implement their IT based solutions to run business in most cost-effective and economical way. Many intricate issues however, have cropped-up which must be addressed to be able to use clouds the purpose for which they are designed and implemented. Among all, fault tolerance and securing the data stored on the clouds takes most of the importance. Continuous availability of the services is dependent on many factors. Faults bound to happen within a network, software, and platform or within the infrastructure which are all used for establishing the cloud. The network that connects various servers, devices, peripherals etc., have to be fault tolerant to start-with so that intended and un-interrupted services to the user can be made available. A novel network design method that leads to achieve high availability of the network and thereby the cloud itself has been presented in this pape

Building an Expert System through Machine Learning for Predicting the Quality of a Website Based on Its Completion

    No full text
The main channel for disseminating information is now the Internet. Users have different expectations for the calibre of websites regarding the posted and presented content. The website’s quality is influenced by up to 120 factors, each represented by two to fifteen attributes. A major challenge is quantifying the features and evaluating the quality of a website based on the feature counts. One of the aspects that determines a website’s quality is its completeness, which focuses on the existence of all the objects and their connections with one another. It is not easy to build an expert model based on feature counts to evaluate website quality, so this paper has focused on that challenge. Both a methodology for calculating a website’s quality and a parser-based approach for measuring feature counts are offered. We provide a multi-layer perceptron model that is an expert model for forecasting website quality from the “completeness” perspective. The accuracy of the predictions is 98%, whilst the accuracy of the nearest model is 87%
